Eleos was started with the dream to ensure equitable distribution of resources such that we can ensure upliftment for the underprivileged sections of our society. With this dream in mind, Eleos has taken the initiative to reach out to society and request everyone to give a thought to sharing their excess with the needy.
The Clothes Donation Drive was taken up with the thought process that our old clothes, deserve a second leash of life in the hands of those who need them. Items which are gathering dust in one corner of our cupboards can actually brighten up someone’s life.
Eleos, an initiative of Vihaan Tandon, is a platform that connects willing donors to needy ones through a network of our partner NGOs. Clothes donating platforms such as Eleos allow you to make a difference without impacting your time or budget. You simply choose the items you want to donate, store them and drop them at our facility. Our online portal creates a convenient way for cloth donors to purge their closets responsibly and help the needy with basic necessities. The donors are rewarded with gift cards and points that can be redeemed when buying clothes from any of our partner fashion stores.
Eleos started in 2022 with multiple purposes. Vihaan Tandon, a student of Ahmedabad International School, wanted to eliminate the struggle for basic clothing needs among the underprivileged section of the social strata and also help curtail the damage to the environment caused due to poor handling of used clothes. His zeal to give back to society, particularly the marginalized ones, motivated him to start the Eleos community service. He believes that smaller positive actions from mankind can prevent our planet from falling into chaos. Even a small act of donating one’s used clothing can go a long way in protecting the climate, unburdening the landfills, and reducing carbon footprints.
Clean clothing initiatives by Eleos aim to solve the issues of discarded fabrics by repurposing them for another line of usage.
Our organization has been successful in igniting the conscious thought among people in Ahmedabad and adjoining areas to declutter their closets for a meaningful purpose. Currently, we are working with reputed NGOs such as SAATH to drive the initiative further and also eminent brands like Shopper’s Stop to reward the worthy donors.
Our organization has been successful in impacting the lives of many and has contributed considerably towards green environment initiatives including green distribution and reusing tons of material.
There is the inspiration behind every story. The age of consumerism and constant penchant by the mercenary industries to increase revenues have led to an over-production of clothes, including the environmentally damaging fast fashion. On the one hand, few privileged have access to unlimited clothing choices, millions even lack basic clothing availability.
Many are still deprived of necessities like clothes. Eleos was started to ensure that children, the poor, and the needy have a steady flow of clothing. We believe everyone deserves a chance to access basic necessities like Clothes. Thus, we aim to raise awareness about this issue and provide regular donations to those in need.
Our project has already distributed over 250 boxes of clothes to the needy. Through our partner NGOs, we ensure the donated clothes are distributed to those who need them most, such as the homeless, elderly, disabled, children, and others. There are lots of reasons why these people don’t have enough clothes. There are single moms and families who cannot afford clothing for their kids. And then there are adults who cannot afford new clothes because they lost their job and can no longer afford them. Some are living in slums and on footpaths. We want to ensure that they have the necessary supplies to be comfortable during their time of need.
We now receive donations from companies and individuals who want to help us. We also accept financial donations from people who are willing to contribute to our cause.
